Connect to your office network

Double-click on the Virtual Private connection on your desktop.

A dialogue box will appear, enter the User name and Password that you use at the location your are connecting to, click Save this user name and password for the following users (if desired), click the option that specifies who has access to use this user name and password with this connection, and then click Connect. An example is shown below.

A connection status box will be displayed to inform you of the connection processes.

If prompted by the following message box, click Do not request the failed protocols next time (if desired), and then click Accept. An example is shown below.

A status window will appear over the Virtual Private connection icon in your system tray informing you that it has been connected.

Double-click on the Remote Desktop Connection on your desktop

If you checked Disk drives under the Local devices field of your Remote Desktop Connection properties, the following warning dialogue box will be displayed. Click Don't prompt me again for connections to this remote computer (if desired), and then click OK. An example is shown below.

If you selected your Remote desktop size to be displayed in Full Screen, a Menu Bar will be placed at the top of your Remote Desktop Connection screen as long as you are connected. This Menu Bar will allow you to Minimize, Restore, or Close your Remote Desktop Connection. To hide the Menu Bar, click the tack, it will then indicate that it is no longer pinned to the desktop. When the Menu Bar has been hidden, move your mouse pointer to the top of your screen, and the Menu Bar to reappear.
