Create a Remote Desktop Connection (RDP Connection)

Open Remote Desktop Connection. (Click Start, point to Programs or All Programs, point to Accessories, point to Communications, and then click Remote Desktop Connection.)

When the Remote Desktop Connection appears, click Options.
|

The following screen will appear.
|

On the Experience tab, select the speed of your connection to the internet (if unknown, select Modem (56 Kbps)). An example is shown below.

On the Local Resources tab, select Do not play under the Remote computer sound field, click Disk drives under the Local devices field if you with to connect your local drive to the machine you will be connecting to at your workplace. An example is shown below.

On the Display tab, move the slider to select the size you would like to view the desktop of the computer you will be connecting to (Full Screen recommended). An example is shown below.

On the General tab, type in the name of the Computer you will be connecting to, your User name, Password, and Domain. Click Save my password, and then click Save As... An example is shown below.

When the Save As dialogue box appears, select the location to save the Remote Desktop Connection as your Desktop, type a File name for the Remote Desktop Connection, and then click Save. An example is shown below.

On the existing Remote Desktop Connection window, click Cancel.

The new Remote Desktop Connection will be placed on your desktop.
